The genus is named after the ancient Greek city of Opus, where, according to Theophrastus, an edible plant grew which could be propagated by rooting its leaves. It will be launched in the 5th Exhibition "Crete - The Great Meeting" to be held on June 2-5 at the Peace and Friendship stadium in Athens.
