[01] Farmers close again border crossing of Promahonas indefinitely
Farmers at the Greek-Bulgarian crossing border of Promahonas announced on
Monday they are closing again the road indefinitely, causing new pressure
for truckers and cars on both sides of the frontier, while farmers at
the second border crossing of Exohi indicated they may also follow suit.
The move comes after traffic was restored in both border crossings on
Sunday afternoon, which had started on February 16, after Bulgarian
truckers staged counter-blockades to protest Greek protests which were
hurting their business.
[02] Six Turkish fighter jets violate Greek airspace in the Aegean
Six Turkish fighter jets and two CN-235 maritime patrol aircraft
entered successively in Athens' FIR on Monday without submitting a
flight plan, violating the Greek airspace 36 times in different regions
of the Aegean. Athens' FIR also recorded five more violations of air
traffic rules.
The 17 of the airspace violations were done by one out of the two CN-235
aircraft which moved from north to south.
In all incidents, the Turkish aircraft were recognized and intercepted
by Greek fighter jets. Two of the Turkish aircraft were armed.
