[01] ND leader Meimarakis receives mandate to form government
ANA/MPA---New Democracy (ND) leader Evangelos Meimarakis on Friday
received a mandate from the President of the Republic Prokopis
Pavlopoulos to form a government.
Meimarakis also expressed his intention to meet with the Parliament
President Zoi Konstantopoulou to get informed on the number of party
deputies.
"We are making efforts to find a solution; we have the duty to seek for
solutions," he underlined.
Meimarakis also described the current political landscape after Prime
Minister Alexis Tsipras' resignation as unprecedented and complex.
ND leader did not rule out the possibility of forming a government with a
prime minister from SYRIZA party as for example government vice president
Yiannis Dragasakis.
