[01] Refugees from Syria hosted on ferry at Kos
ANA/MPA---482 undocumented migrants from Syria got on board 'Eleftherios
Venizelos' ferry early Sunday. The vessel is docked at Kos port in
order to host migrants for a specific period.
The authorities decided at a meeting on Saturday that only refugees from
Syria will be hosted on the ship. Coast guard and police officers will
remain on the ship in an attempt to prevent brawls and clashes among
migrants of different nations as it happened on Saturday afternoon
between Pakistanis and Afghans.
The specific ferry with a 110-member crew is expected to remain in the
area for approximately 15 days.
