[01] Papadimoulis: SYRIZA is more popular among the people than in
parliament
ANA/MPA---"Some SYRIZA deputies have made their choice to pass to
the opposition and to create a new party that will oppose to SYRIZA
with banner the return to the national currency and this forces the
government and the prime minister to take political initiatives,"
Europarliament Vice President and SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis
stated on Thursday speaking to private MEGA TV.
Papadimoulis expressed his certainty that "SYRIZA, the government and
most of all Alexis Tsipras are more popular to the people than in the
current government and this will be proved through democratic procedures."
"We are experiencing the chronicle of a division foretold for a long
time," he said adding that "his comrades' decision to divide SYRIZA is
a very wrong decision which will be judged by the citizens."
[02] ND accuses PM Tsipras of opportunism
ANA/MPA---Main opposition New Democracy on Thursday sternly attacked
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras accusing of him that his strategy and
the prevailing rumours for early elections undermine the Greek economy.
According to ND sources, "Tsipras' dangerous opportunism is endless and is
against the country. Tsipras' actions target exclusively Mr. Lafazanis"
and accused the premier that "an in-party problem that he could have
solved, as he promised, has become an obsession with unpredictable
repercussions to the country".
[03] FinMin Tsakalotos urges Greeks to bring back their money to the banks
ANA/MPA---Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos speaking in parliament
on Thursday referred to a series of factors that will restore the
credibility to the Greek banking sector.
Tsakalotos urged Greeks to trust the banking system and return their money
to the banks. He referred to the government's mistakes but explained that
mistakes are always made during hard negotiations. However, he said, there
is a legacy and "I think it helped European social democracy to realize
that some things need to change in order for the eurozone to be saved."
Regarding the possibility of elections, he underlined: "It won't be the
same case as in 2012 because now there is an agreement and there is a
framework for the recapitalisation of banks."
