[01] Deficit down 77.4% in Jan-Feb
(ANA-MPA) -- Budget revenues surpassed budget targets in the first two
months of 2010, while spending was lower compared with budget targets
for the year, official figures showed on Friday.
A report by the General Accounting Office said net budget revenues grew
13.1 pct in the January-February period, up from a budget target for a
growth rate of 10.8 pct this year. Spending fell 9.6 pct, from a budget
target for a annual decline rate of 2.8 pct, with primary spending down
9.3 pct and interest spending down 12.8 pct.
The state budgetâs deficit dropped 77.4 pct in the two-month period,
sharply up from a budget target of 27 pct, to 903 million euros, from
3.986 billion euros in the corresponding period in 2009.
