  • [01] Promachonas border closed

Protesting farmers who have blocked the Greece-Bulgaria crossing border at Promachonas decided after their meeting on Wednesday evening to continue their mobilisations. The farmers demand to meet immediately with Argiculture Minister Sotiris Hatzigakis. They are demanding equal compensation with farmers from the other Greek regions for damages to their crops.

The border post at Promachonas will remain closed for all vehicles. Trucks loaded with perishable goods headed for Bulgaria are being redirected, with police assistance, to the Evzoni border crossing at Kilkis or the border station of Exohi at Drama.
