[01] U.S. meat ban unjustified
BRUSSELS - United States action against European Union meat exports is
unjustified on health grounds and highly regrettable, a European Commission
spokesman said on Tuesday.
[02] New vet rules on U.S. poultry
BRUSSELS - New veterinary controls on European Union imports of about $50
million worth of poultry meat a year from the United States apply from today,
European Commission agriculture spokesman Gerard Kiely said.
[03] Decision on EMU members-April 1998
BRUSSELS - The decision on which countries will take part in a common European
currency is expected in late-April of 1998, a European Commission spokesman
said on Tuesday.
