[01] President Clerides has third meeting with Rauf Denktash

The President of the Republic Mr Glafcos Clerides and the Turkish Cypriot leader Mr Rauf Denktash had their third meeting yesterday in Nicosia in the presence of the UN Secretary General's Special Advisor for Cyprus, Mr Alvaro de Soto.

The next meeting between Clerides and Denktash will take place on Friday afternoon.

Government Spokesman Mr Michalis Papapetrou stated yesterday that President Clerides would brief the leaders of the political parties on the course of the talks. "A meeting has already been arranged with the General Secretary of AKEL Mr Demetris Christofias on Thursday at 11 am; meetings with the other leaders will follow" the Spokesman said.
