[01] Council of Ministers approve Cyprus' position on EU accession
chapters
The Council of Ministers yesterday approved Cyprus' positions in another
four chapters of the European Union acquis communautaire, due to be
submitted today or on Monday.
The four chapters deal with the free movement of capital, economic and
monetary union, social policy and energy.
[02] Cyprus joins COST
The European Co-operation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research
(COST) meeting in Warsaw, yesterday approved Cyprus, Bulgaria, Lithuania
and Lettonia as full members of the organisation.
COST is the framework in which EU member-states co-operate with third
countries in the field of research and technology.
[03] New Cyprus High Commissioner in Malaysia
Cyprus has a new High Commissioner in Malaysia.
Ms Rea Yiordamli, Cyprus' High Commissioner in India from where she will be
based, presented her credentials to the King of Malaysia, Sultan Salahuddin
Abdul Aziz Shah.
