[01] Cyprus discussed at Albright and Papandreou meeting
US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has said the US are continuing to
work for progress towards a solution that will be satisfactory to both
sides in Cyprus.
The Cyprus question was among the subjects Mrs Albright discussed at a
meeting on the Kosovo crisis in Washington yesterday with Greece's Foreign
Minister George Papandreou.
The US Secretary of State also said that they expect Cyprus to be part of
the subjects discussed at the G-8 meeting in June and added that the United
States supports the efforts of the UN Secretary-General to reduce tensions
on Cyprus.
