[01] National Council to convene again in February
Ôhe National Council, the top advisory body to the President comprising
all six parliamentary parties and former Cyprus Presidents, concluded
its day-long meeting on Friday evening and is due to meet again in
February. In a short statement after the meeting, Cyprus President Nicos
Anastasiades said that the meeting took place in "a mild climate" and
that the discussion and exchange of views was constructive.

Moscow supports the conclusion of a joint declaration between the two
sides in Cyprus, reaffirming UN Security Council resolutions on the
solution of the long-standing problem that divides the island, the
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cyprus Stanislav Osadshiy has
said. In an interview with the Cyprus News Agency, the Ambassador also
notes that Russia has always retained a principled stance vis-Ã -vis
a Cyprus solution that will benefit both Greek Cypriots and Turkish
Cypriots.
