[01] Communications Minister to brief aviation experts on Turkey's
illegal behaviour
Cyprus will raise the issue of Turkey's illegal behaviour in relation
to the Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR) , on the sidelines of an
international conference on "Aviation Safety in the turbulence of the
current economic crisis".
The Communications Minister will hold on Thursday meetings with the
representatives of international organizations and the aviation community
to brief them on the problems Turkey causes to Cyprus civil aviation.
In statements to the Press on Thursday, after the opening of the
Conference, Mitsopoulos said that the Conference is a "great opportunity"
for Cyprus to raise the issue of the unlawful and illegal behaviour of
Turkey, who does not recognise the Nicosia FIR and continuously hinders
flights carried out through the Nicosia FIR, seeking to create a new
legal fait accompli.
