[01] Cyprus must continue to have an airline, Minister says
The objective is for Cyprus to have an airline that would link the island
with the rest of the world, Minister of Communications and Works Tasos
Mitsopoulos has said.
Speaking to reporters Sunday in the southern coastal town of Limassol,
the Minister said the government and the Board of Cyprus Airways (Cyprus'
national air carrier) are making efforts to convince the EU that the
restructuring plan of the company is viable and competitive.
Mitsopoulos added that if the restructuring plan of Cyprus Airways
submitted to the EU is rejected, then the competent authorities in
Cyprus will proceed with a plan B.
