Finance Minister Kikis Kazamias and Central Bank Governor Athanasios Orphanides had today a two-hour meeting on the economy at the Ministry of Finance.

The two sides said that they would establish such meetings on a monthly basis, adding that the next scheduled meeting will take place after two weeks.

Moreover, they both described the meeting as a constructive one.

It requires seriousness, collectivity, a common understanding and keeping common pace in managing the economys not-so-good condition, Kazamias said.

Orpahnides said that both sides recognize how serious things are and noted that this common understanding forces them to work together, in order to reverse the economys negative outlook. I am optimistic that with the right moves and effort by all, we will succeed, Orphanides noted.
