[01] STOLEN EXPLOSIVES POLICE RECOVEREDA large quantity of the explosives stolen last month from a military camp of the Cyprus National Guard, were recovered on Sunday, Police said.Michalis Katsounotos, Spokesman of the Cyprus Police has said that on Sunday, police experts located 79-80 kgs of the 172 kgs that were stolen last month. The quantity was recovered near the villages of Omodhos, Potamiou and Vasa Kilaniou, in the Limassol District. According to Katsounotos, Police continues investigations and interrogations to recover the remaining explosives. Four persons are in custody until Tuesday in relation to the case. [02] CBC GOVERNOR CYPRUS ECONOMYGovernor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, Athanasios Orphanides, has said that Cyprus is in a better condition than most of its EU partners to implement a fiscal consolidation plan at the moment.In an interview with Reuters, Orphanides expressed hope that a fiscal consolidation plan will be agreed upon and implemented in the next few months. Cyprus is in a better condition than most of our peers in the European Union to implement a fiscal consolidation plan at the moment``, he said. I find it very important that it is now universally agreed by all involved that we do need to discuss, agree and implement as a country a fiscal consolidation programme.
