[01] EUROELECTIONS - OFFICIAL RESULTS
Chief Returning Officer Lazaros Savvides announced the official results
of the elections for the six members of the European Parliament from
Cyprus.
The Democratic Rally (DISY) received 109,209 votes or 35.65%, AKEL
106,922 or 34.90%, the Democratic Party (DIKO) 37,625 or 12.28%, the
Movement of Social Democrats ΕΔΕΚ 30,169 or 9.85%, the European Party
12,630 or 4.12% and the Ecologists and Environmentalists Movement 4,602
or 1.5%.

The six new members of the European Parliament from Cyprus are Ioannis
Kasoulides and Eleni Theocharous from DISI, Takis Hajdigeorgiou and
Kyriakos Triantafyllides from AKEL, Antigoni Papadopoulou from DIKO and
Kyriakos Mavronikolas from EDEK.
The names of the six successful candidates in Saturday`s European
elections in Cyprus were announced on Sunday by Chief Returning Officer
Lazaros Savvides, when the last ballot box in the EU closed.
