[01] PRESIDENT - CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL FAIR
Cyprus President Demetris Christofias has said Cyprus Government`s
target is to make Cyprus a common meeting point and a place of
cooperation among the countries and peoples of the area.
Speaking during the opening of the 33rd Cyprus International Fair,
Christofias said the economy of Cyprus is based on strong foundations,
adding that the Cyprus Government will promote measures to improve
productivity, and in parallel will modernize and strengthen
competitiveness, thus ensuring satisfactory rates of growth.
He described the Fair as an important event with positive economic,
social and political repercussions for the island.
