[01] INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY
To mark tomorrow`s occasion of the International Day of Peace, the
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus, Michael
Moller, will host and address a special ceremony in the crossing area
alongside Ledra Place Hotel in Nicosia.
According to a UNDP press release, representatives from Japan of the
World Peace Prayer Society will attend the event, as well as members of
the Cyprus World War II Veterans Association.
The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United
Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session every
September.
