Cyprus FM official to attend memorial for Srebrenica massacre

Nicosia, Jul 11 (CNA) -- Cyprus Foreign Ministry Permanent Secretary Sotos Zackheos will attend a memorial dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the massacre of around 8.000 Muslims in and near the Bosnian town of Srebrenica in 1995.

House President signs condolences book for Egyptian diplomat

Nicosia, Jul 11 (CNA) -- Cyprus House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias signed the condolences book opened today at the Egyptian Embassy for the death of Egypt's Ambassador in Baghdad Ihab el-Sherif.

Expressing condolences on behalf of the Cyprus parliament for the diplomat who was kidnapped and executed by the Iraqi part of the Al - Qaeda group, Christofias said: ''the Egyptian people and government are friends of Cyprus and we believe we have a duty to stand by them at this moment''.

Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Jul 11 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

On Tuesday (July 12) and Wednesday (July 13), the weather will be fine but fog and low clouds will be forming locally overnight, mainly along the coastal areas. Moderate sea breezes, south-westerly to north-westerly, up to 4 beaufort, will predominate during daytime, becoming gentle north-westerly to north-easterly overnight, 2 to 3 beaufort. Seas will be slight becoming smooth to slight overnight.

Temperatures will range between 23 and 41 degrees Centigrade inland, 23 and 35 degrees along the south and east coasts, and 21 and 31 degrees along the west coast and over the mountains.

On Thursday (July 14) and Friday (July 15) the weather will be mainly fine with local clouds in the afternoon. On Friday afternoon there is a probability of isolated showers over the mountains. Temperatures will fall gradually.

Sea temperature: 26 degrees C.
