Cypriot politicians stress need for a settlement

Nicosia, Jun 27 (CNA) -- The will for a solution of the Cyprus problem that would lead to the reunification of the island was expressed during today's conference, organised by the Brussels-based European Policy Centre, with the participation of representatives from both communities.

Speaking at the conference, Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides reiterated that ''we are committed to seeking the reunification of our country in a wisely structured bizonal bicommunal federation within the framework of the Annan plan but under fairer terms.''

Arab League Secretary General arrives in Cyprus

Larnaca, Jun 27 (CNA) - Secretary General of the League of Arab States Amr Moussa arrived in Cyprus tonight for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs George Iacovou.

During his stay on the island, Moussa will meet with President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos and President of the House of Representatives Demetris Christofias, and will hold official talks with Iacovou.
