President of the Defence Committee Yiannakis Omirou said the violation would also be reported to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament. Kukan, on a two-day official visit to the island, met here today with House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias. He noted that the dialogue for the solution of the Cyprus problem within the European Union should be more intensive and more oriented towards the solution of the long-standing problem. Christofias thanked Slovakia for its support to the solution of the Cyprus problem based on principles, adding that the Cyprus Republic appreciates Slovakia's stance. Chrysostomides said that former Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash ''had illegally allowed the transportation of Turks from Bulgaria to the occupied areas of Cyprus'' a few years ago, adding that ''this number of Turks from Bulgaria falls into the category of settlers.'' ''Illegal colonisation is a war crime against humanitarian law, it is condemned by international law, it is deplored by the new charter of the International Criminal Court and thus none of the settlers automatically gain the right to either reside or legalise their stay in the occupied part of the Republic of Cyprus,'' Chrysostomides pointed out. The first protocol concerns JRC cooperation with the Cyprus State General Laboratory and the second cooperation of JRC with the Cyprus Veterinary Services. Speaking during a press conference, JRC Acting Director Roland Schenkel said he was very pleased with the signing of the two collaboration agreements, one in the area of health and the other one related with the area of agriculture.
