[01] UN SG and Turkish Premier discuss Cyprus0855:CYPPRESS:01UN SG and Turkish Premier discuss Cyprus United Nations, Jun 10 (CNA) -- UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said he intents to bring back before the Security Council his report issued after the Cyprus referenda in April last year aiming at its endorsement. Speaking at a joint press conference with Turkish Premier Tayiip Erdogan, the UN SG added that next steps on the Cyprus issue would be decided after the Under-Secretary-General for the Department of Political Affairs Sir Kieran Prendergast briefs him on his mission to Cyprus, Greece and Turkey where he was sent to make an assessment on the current situation. Speaking after the working lunch Erdogan expressed disappointment over the fact that an endorsement of the report is still pending, adding that the Turkish side's expectation in Cyprus ''is to have a comprehensive, long-lasting and just peace and settlement''. Speaking at the ceremony in Nicosia, Genuardi expressed certainty that the Cypriot citizens would concretely perceive the benefits of the new investment, while Keravnos pointed out the importance of the loan, since it concerns the financing of projects and programmes which are co-financed by the structural funds and cohesion funds. The Protocoll was examined by the member states' permanent representatives, who prepared the approval by the EU Foreign Ministers, while its signing by all parties is scheduled to take place at the end of June or during the first days of July the latest. The Foreign Minister said that he will depart Sunday for Luxembourg, where he will attend the General Affairs and External Relations Council which will examine the EU economic perspectives. He said the Ministry has so far filed three complaints to European Union Defence Ministers and to other fora on this issue. [09] Cyprus EU Consumer Centre inaugurated by Commissioner Kyprianou2010:CYPPRESS:08Cyprus EU Consumer Centre inaugurated by Commissioner Kyprianou Nicosia, Jun 10 (CNA) -- The European Consumer Centre of Cyprus, inaugurated today, will be officially handling all complaints by Cypriot consumers regarding the purchase of products or the provision of services to other member states. It will also deal with complaints filed by European citizens relating to purchases or services from Cyprus and submitted at European Consumer Centres located in their area of permanent residence. These complaints will be forwarded to the Cyprus Centre for immediate action.
