Rehn calls on parties in Cyprus to show compromise (1)

Nicosia, May 13 (CNA) -- Ôhe current status quo in Cyprus does not correspond to European norms, stated here Friday EU Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn, and called on the people to show willingness to compromise.

Our wish has been to enable a united Cyprus to be part of the enlargement process from the very beginning. Therefore, no efforts should be spared to reach a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem.
