Cyprus President signs condolences book at Russian Embassy

Nicosia, Sep 7 (CNA) - Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos has recorded the Republic's condemnation of the hostage bloodbath in the North Ossetian town of Beslan and extended his deepest sympathy to the Russian people.

Signing the book of condolences, at the Russian embassy here, for the victims of last week's school hostage siege, the President wrote: ''on behalf of the government, of the people of Cyprus and myself personally, I extend deepest sympathy to the government and the friendly people of Russia at this trying moment''.
