    United Nations, Sep 3 (CNA) -- Cyprus has strongly protested to the UN Secretary General new violations of the national airspace of the Republic of Cyprus and the Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR) by military aircraft of the Turkish Air Force, recorded on 21, 26, 27, 28 and 29 July 2004 and on 2, 3, 4, 15, 18 and 19 August 2004.

    Committee on Missing to expand scope of activity & responsibility

    Nicosia, Sep 03 (CNA) -- The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP), a tripartite committee comprising a UN representative and one from each of the islands two communities (Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot), met here today for the second time in a week after a five year break, and considered how to expand its scope of activity and responsibility.

    According to a press release issued after the four - hour meeting, ''the CMP, in accordance with the suggestions made by UNSG in his letters dated 3 December 2003 and 4 August 2004 addressed to the two Cypriot leaders, considered how to expand its scope of activity and responsibility''.

    DISY and T/C parties agree on need for solution the soonest

    Nicosia, Sep 3 (CNA) -- A delegation from the Democratic Rally opposition party held separate meetings in the Turkish occupied part of Nicosia with Turkish Cypriot parties, and agreed on the need for a resumption of the Cyprus talks to reach a solution to the Cyprus issue as soon as possible.

    The delegation headed by DISY President Nicos Anastasiades met with delegations from the United Cyprus Party (UCP), the Patriotic Unity Movement and the Communal Liberation Party.

    Nicosia, Sep 3 (CNA) Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lillikas and French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade Francois Loos discussed today ways to further develop cooperation both in the commercial and technological sectors.

    Speaking after their meeting, Lillikas said Cyprus, with Frances cooperation, will go ahead with the setting up of its first Technological Park.

    On Monday, a seminar will be held which will lead to a feasibility study on the park, he added.
