    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Aug 30 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 31/8/2004 to 1/9/2004 ------------------------------------------- On Tuesday, the weather will be mainly fine with local cloud during day. Fine with risk of local mist or low cloud over night and dawn.

    Wind will be southeast to south, gentle 3BF, gradually veering to southwest to west, gentle to moderate 4BF.

    The temperature will be min/max 22/34 degrees inland, 22/31 degrees over south and east coast, 13/31 degrees over Prodromos area.

    The sea state will be smooth to slight over night, slight in the afternoon.

    On Wednesday, the same as Tuesday with a small increase in temperature.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 2/9/2004 to 3/9/2004 ----------------------------------------------------- No significant change in weather conditions but small increase in temperature.

    Reunification remains top priority for Cyprus Government, says FM

    Nicosia, Aug 30 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government's goal remains the peaceful reunification of the island in conditions of security and hope for the future, far from foreign interventions, Foreign Minister George Iacovou has stated.

    He was declaring the opening of the Second International Conference of Cyprus Youth Overseas (NEPOMAK) and the 20th Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK) and the International Coordinating Committee Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA) Central Councils which started here today.

    In their first day of deliberations the overseas Cypriots were briefed by Foreign Minister George Iacovou and the leaders or representatives of the parliamentary political parties on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.
