EU Ambassador welcomes government measures
Nicosia, Aug 1 (CNA) -- The head of the European Commission's
Representation in Cyprus Ambassador Adriaan van der Meer has welcomed
the measures the government of Cyprus announced on Friday to facilitate
trade for the Turkish Cypriots across the ceasefire line, that divides
the country since the 1974 Turkish invasion.
In his address to the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Turkish
Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, he called on businessmen to start trading
now that the legal framework was in place.
