London, May 30 (CNA) -- British Minister for Europe Denis MacShane
said the way forward in Cyprus is not the provocative recognition of
the illegal regime in the Turkish occupied north of the island.
Replying to a speech made by Conservative MP Ann Winterton before the
Parliament in favour of the Turkish Cypriot positions and calling for
recognition of the illegal regime, MacShane said much wrong was done
to both communities over the years but the British government is now
seeking not to right all the wrongs of the past but to move forward.
