    Cyprus House President: No UN initiative on Cyprus

    Larnaca, May 11 (CNA) -- Cyprus House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias has expressed the view that there will not be soon an initiative on the part of the UN concerning the resumption of efforts to solve the Cyprus problem.

    Speaking before his departure for Athens where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, Christofias said everyone now is anticipating the report of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on developments before and after the April 24 referenda.
