President speaks with Khatami
Nicosia, Dec 28 (CNA) -- President Tassos Papadopoulos had a telephone
conversation today with Iranian President Dr Sayed Muhammad Khatami to
whom he conveyed most heartfelt condolences on behalf of his government
and the people of Cyprus for the calamity that has hit Iran.
Papadopoulos informed Khatami about the government decision to offer
financial and humanitarian aid, amounting to 100.000 dollars, to the
earthquake struck area in Iran.
