Nicosia, Aug 29 (CNA) The Bank of Cyprus Group core profit for the first half of 2003 reached 46,5 million Cyprus Pounds, registering a 22% increase compared to the first half of 2002.

United Nations, Aug 29 (CNA) Cyprus Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Andreas Mavroyiannis, in a letter to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, protested the violations of Nicosia flight information region (FIR) and the Republic's national airspace in July and August by Turkish military aircraft.

Christofias calls on Greek Cypriots to ignore Denktash antics

Nicosia, Aug 29 (CNA) - Cyprus House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias called on Greek Cypriots from Famagusta to ignore the antics of father and son, Rauf and Serdar, Denktash, noting that the United Nations, with resolution 550, urge Turkey and ''not Serdar Denktash or any Denktash'' to return Famagusta to its legitimate residents.
