Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Friday and Saturday: 29/08/2003 to 30/08/2003

Weather mainly fine but misty overnight. Wind will be Southwest to Northwest, light 2-3 BF overnight and light to moderate 3-4 BF during day. The state of sea will be slight. Temperatures will range between 21-36 C inland, 22-33 C over south coast 21-30 C over west coast and 17-28 C over Prodromos area.

Outlook for Sunday and Monday: 31/08/2003 to 01/09/2003

No significant change. Temperature will increase by 1-2 C.

PSEKA says rapprochement should be strengthened

Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) - Speakers at the meeting of the World Coordinating Committee Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA), held in Nicosia on the sidelines of the 13th World Congress of Overseas Cypriots, pointed out the need to continue and strengthen efforts for rapprochement with the Turkish Cypriots.

However, they noted that one should not expect all Turkish Cypriots to share the same views as the Greek Cypriots, and suggested the organisation of seminars, panels, meetings and events with the participation of Turkish Cypriots.
