Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Aug 18 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 19/08/2003 to 20/08/2003

The weather will be fine and mainly clear. Risk of local mist patches overnight and towards dawn. Light to gentle southeast to southwest winds will be blowing during the morning, while gentle to moderate sea breezes will prevail, in the afternoon. Light to gentle southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow overnight. The sea state will be generally slight in the afternoon, but smooth to slight during the morning and overnight. Maximum temperature is expected to reach 40C inland, around 35C over the south and east coasts, around 31C over the west and around 30C over Prodromos. Temperature is expected to fall overnight, to around 23C inland, the east and south coasts, 20C over the west coast and around 21C over Prodromos.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 21/08/2003 to 22/08/2003

No significant change is expected.

Nicosia, Aug 18 (CNA) Morphou residents have called for the reunification of Cyprus, without any dividing lines or occupation troops, so that Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots can enjoy the advantages which accession to the European Union will bring.
