International community welcomes ratification of Convention by Cyprus
Nicosia, Feb 4 (CNA) The international community welcomed the
ratification on the part of the Republic of Cyprus of The Convention on
the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of
Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction, during the meeting of
the standing committees in Geneva from 3-7 February.
The chairman of the Fourth Meeting of the Convention member-states,
Belgiums Permanent Representative, Ambassador Jean Lindt, welcomed
Cyprus and expressed the hope that Turkey too will soon be able to
complete the ratification procedure.
