    Greece: Cyprus solution plan must be viable and functional

    Nicosia, Nov 4 (CNA) -- Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesman Panos Beglitis stated today in Athens that a proposed solution plan on Cyprus, which the UN might put forward, should be in line with UN decisions and the European Union acquis communautaire.

    Nicosia, Íïv 4 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday, 5/11/02 to 6/11/2002

    On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy with thundery showers at times. In some places the storms will be heavy.

    On Wednesday, the weather will be mainly fine with patchy cloud.

    Wind: NW'ly to NE'ly gentle to moderate, but variable strong in storms.

    State of Sea: Slight to moderate

    Temperature: Maximum temperature 22 Celsius Minimum temperature 12 Celsius inland and 15 Celsius over coastal areas.

    Brussels, Nov 4 (CNA) -- The result of the elections in Turkey has nothing to do with Cyprus nor it can affect its European Union (EU) accession course, said here Monday Jean-Christophe Filori, spokesman for Enlargement Commissioner, Gunter Verheugen.

    Replying to a question at the daily press briefing, whether the result of the elections in Turkey could affect the candidacy of Cyprus for EU accession, Filori said the result has nothing to do with Cyprus accession course, which has its own dynamic.
