    Nicosia, Feb 20 (CNA) - Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has said that German Foreign Minister Yoschka Fischer has shown great interest in the Cyprus question and has conveyed his country's desire to see the ongoing peace talks on Cyprus bear fruit prior to Cyprus' accession to the European Union.

    Larnaca, Feb 20 (CNA) -- UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alvaro De Soto left today for New York to report to the UN chief and brief the Security Council, on the first round of UN-led direct talks suspended yesterday for a brief reflection period. Talks will resume on March 1, with fewer but longer meetings.

    Larnaca, Feb 20 (CNA) -- If the Turkish side continues to insist on a two-state solution for Cyprus, there will be no settlement, Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou said here today, expressing however the hope that Turkey will eventually realize that it is in its interest and in the interest of the Turkish Cypriots to change its position and work for a solution, based on UN Security Council resolutions.

    Nicosia, Feb 20 (CNA) -- Cyprus High Commissioner to Kenya Constantinos Eliades delivered yesterday, during a special ceremony in Nairobi, at the Ministry of Public Health, medicines worth 5.500 pounds, (one Cyprus pound=1,5 US dollars) donated by the Cyprus Government to Kenya.
