[03] Cyprus - Kuwait - Missing persons
Nicosia, Sep 28 (CNA) --President of the Kuwait-Cyprus Parliamentary
Friendship Group Mubarak al-Duwaila expressed here today hope that UN
decisions on missing persons of Cyprus and Kuwait will be executed, adding
that his country will fully support efforts of the Pancyprian Committee of
Relatives of Missing Persons to organise next year an international
conference on the humanitarian issue of missing persons.
"It is only fair to know about the fate of our missing persons, our
relatives and friends" al Duwaila said after a meeting, the Kuwait-Cyprus
Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is visiting Cyprus, had with the
Pancyprian Committee of Relatives of Missing Persons, and underlined that
"we agreed to organize an international conference on missing persons that
will fascilitate efforts to find our relatives", expressing hope that
Turkey will be "forced to participate to this conference".

[04] Presidential pardon - Turkish Cypriot convict
Nicosia, Sep 28 (CNA) -- Turkish Cypriot Omer Tekogul sentenced to ten
years' imprisonment by the Assize Court in March 2001 was given today a
Presidential pardon.
Attorney - General Alecos Markides told CNA that Tekogul, 42, from the
village of Pyla inhabited by Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, found
guilty on seven drug-related charges, has been released from the Central
Prisons in Nicosia and returned to his village.
