    [01] Cyprus - Britain - Bases - Antenna

Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Britain have agreed to have an independent panel of experts, who will look into their separate assessments on the possible environmental impact a new 100-metre high antenna could have on the area of the Salt Lake, near the British Base of Akrotiri where London intends to install the new telecommunications mast.

The Ministry of Communications and Works announced today that measurements of the electromagnetic emissions in Akrotiri showed that the exposure of the public to electromagnetic radiation is at least 76 times lower than the limit recommended by the European Commission.

[09] President Clerides - Greek Deputy Foreign Minister

Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Greece have drafted a strategy plan to activate worldwide networks that will serve as a counteract to Turkish efforts to promote its goals with relation to Cyprus, in Europe and elsewhere, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Gregoris Niotis said here today, adding that during next week's visit to Cyprus by Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou this issue will be analysed in depth.
