[02] Foreign Minister - Missing persons
Nicosia, Aug 17 (CNA) -- Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said today
that the government's efforts in achieving a substantive investigation into
the fate of each and every missing person would be continuous and
persistent, adding that the measures taken by the Cyprus government on this
humanitarian issue have started to bear results.
Speaking from the Larnaca village of Kalavasos, at the ceremony of
unveiling a plaque in honor of the 19 year old soldier Pavlos Neocleous,
who was killed during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, Kasoulides
accused Turkey for not respecting the right of the of the missing persons'
relatives to find out about the fate of their beloved ones.

[03] House President - Cyprus problem
Larnaca, Aug 17 (CNA) -- House President Demetris Christofias said here
today that the Cyprus problem is an issue involving the implementation of
principles and human rights, adding it is imperative that the problem
should be dealt with collectively by all political powers of the Republic.
Speaking on his departure for a visit to Greece, where he will take part in
events commemorating the 27th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus,
Christofias said that the Cyprus political leadership should accompany the
President of the Republic in a possible resumption of the UN-led talks on
Cyprus.
