[02] Foreign Minister - British High Commissioner
Nicosia, Jul 18 (CNA) -- Cyprus and Britain continued today their
discussions on the latter's plans to erect a 100-metre high antenna in the
British Âase of Akrotiri with what they described as "a very useful
exchange of ideas."
Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and British High Commissioner Edward
Clay met for nearly two hours to discuss health and environmental concerns
arising from the planned installation of the antenna, which sparked earlier
this month violent protests in the Akrotiri area.

[03] Chief EU negotiator - Slovenian Deputy Minister
Nicosia, Jul 18 (CNA) -- Cyprus' chief negotiator with the European Union
(EU) George Vassiliou and Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of Slovenia
Renata Vitez exchanged views today on their EU accession process and
focused their discussions on regional policy matters.
Speaking after the meeting, Vassiliou said both countries are facing the
difficult chapter of regional policy, which concerns structural funds
provided by the EU to candidate countries after accession.

[04] Cyprus - Cruise liners - G8
Nicosia, Jul 18 (CNA) -- The luxurious cruise liners "European Vision" and
"Mistral", owned by "Festival Cruises", will be among the 20 ships to
accommodate some of the participants to the G8 Summit this weekend in Genoa,
company Chairman and Cyprus' Ambassador to the Food and Agriculture
Organisation (FAO) George Poulides has told CNA.
He said that "European Vision" will be coming to Cyprus this year carrying
European tourists and that all "Festival Cruises" stockholders are Cypriots
and Greeks.
