CNA/RG/MM/2001 1730:CYPPRESS:04[04] Missing persons - More remains identifiedNicosia, Jun 6 (CNA) - The exhumed remains of another 36 persons, killed in the summer of 1974 when Turkish troops invaded Cyprus, have been identified through the DNA method, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced here today, bringing the number of remains identified since the summer of 1999 to 108.As the process of exhumation and identification of remains of the 1974 Turkish invasion continues, the government has renewed its appeal to relatives of missing persons to come forward to give blood and any information that might be of use to the scientists carrying out this arduous task, to help them identify the rest of exhumed remains and any other remains that may be exhumed in the future.
