Washington, Jun 6 (CNA) - The 12th annual conference of the International Coordinating Committee Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA) got underway in Washington yesterday to discuss how Greek Americans can become more effective in the efforts for a settlement in Cyprus and amid calls for unity and commitment to this end.

Speaking to some 100 delegates from six countries, US ambassador in Nicosia Donald Bandler and State Department coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston expressed disappointment over the Turkish Cypriot leader's refusal to participate in the UN-led proximity talks but assured that a solution on the island remains a priority for the new US administration.
