[01] FIVB - Cyprus - Suspensions
Nicosia, Feb 23 (CNA) - The international volleyball federation (FIVB) has
suspended a Russian and a Turkish women's volleyball team from taking part
in any international activity for a year, because they participated in a
tournament in the areas of Cyprus occupied by Turkey since 1974.
The decision was taken yesterday by FIVB, after it examined strong protests
submitted by the Cyprus Volleyball Federation over the participation of
Turkish "Eczacibasi" and Russian "Uresenko" in an unauthorised tournament
last year in the Turkish-occupied areas of Cyprus.

[03] Cyprus - UAE - Memorandum
Nicosia, Feb 23 (CNA) -- Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates signed here
today a memorandum of cooperation in the field of air transportation,
providing, among others, for four flights every week from the UAE to
Cyprus.
Both sides have praised the signing of the memorandum, saying it will
contribute to the further strengthening of economic relations between the
two countries.
