    [03] Foreign Minister - Yugoslavia - Banking - Claims

    Nicosia, Jan 26 (CNA) - Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has described as "unfortunate" a statement by the Governor of the Central Bank of Yugoslavia that Cyprus refuses to cooperate in the effort to locate secret accounts of former government officials.

    He also said Nicosia has told Belgrade it was ready to work jointly on this matter, adding that the same message was conveyed to Carla del Ponte Chief Prosecutor of the International Tribunal for war crimes in former Yugoslavia at The Hague. CNA/MM/RG/2001

    [04] Commerce Ìinister - Oil deposits

    Nicosia, Jan 26 (CNA) - Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Nicos Rolandis has said it is well known in oil circles that there are oil deposits in the Eastern Mediterranean.

    The Minister denied reports that Cyprus is interested in participating in a project for the construction of a natural gas pipeline from Egypt to Syria. CNA/MM/RG/2001
