[03] Belgian State Secretary - Cyprus Foreign Minister - Talks

Nicosia, Jan 18 (CNA) - Belgian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Annemie Neyts, said here today after talks with Cyprus' Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, that she would be raising the issue of Cyprus peace talks with Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, when she meets him later today in the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus.

Neyts noted that the Belgian constitution, which is a federation combining many diversities, works and that it can also work in the case of Cyprus, as long as the political will is there, noting that she would ask Denktash today why he was adamant in not attending a new round of UN-led talks on the Cyprus problem.
