Overseas Cypriot Youth - Conference - Resolution
Nicosia, Jan 7 (CNA) -- Äelegates to the First World Conference of Overseas
Cypriot Youth, who have completed their deliberations in Nicosia, have
approved a resolution calling for the creation of strategies aiming to
promote a settlement of the Cyprus issue.
The resolution calls for the "creation and development of materials to be
used in promoting the Cyprus problem abroad, the development of strategies
to involve Greek Organisations in dealing with the Cyprus problem and the
development of strategies to promote youth leadership within our
communities and Organisations".

Protest - British Bases - Tziakourmas
Nicosia, Jan 7 (CNA) -- Some 50 people today strongly protested the
abduction and continuous illegal detention by the Turkish occupation regime
of Greek Cypriot Panicos Tziakourmas.
Relatives of Tziakourmas gathered outside the British Bases Police Station
in the area of Dhekelia, demanding the immediate release of Tziakourmas,
who was abducted in mid-December within the British Bases area.
