[02] Cyprus government - Denktash - Peace talks

Nicosia, Nov 23 (CNA) -- The Cyprus government today expressed the hope that the Turkish Cypriot side will take part in the sixth round of UN-led proximity talks for a settlement on the island, scheduled to resume in Geneva end of January.

Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou told his daily press briefing today that the only way to find a settlement in Cyprus is through a dialogue under UN auspices and said the Greek Cypriot side will be in Geneva provided that nothing comes up until then that will force President Glafcos Clerides reassess his position.
