CNA/MCH/RG/GP/2000 0920:CYPPRESS:02[02] Tourism - Increase in arrivalsNicosia, Sep 11 (CNA) - An increase of 12,3 percent was recorded in tourist arrivals during the period January-July 2000, compared to the same period last year.A total of 1.471.734 tourists visited this east Mediterranean island tourist resort during the first half of the year, compared to 1.310.592 during the first six months of 1999. During the same period, income from tourism rose by 14,8 percent. Official figures indicate that arrivals in July this year increased by 12,5 percent, compared to the same month in 1999.
