2125:CYPRESS:08 President Clerides - Press Conference by Maria Chrysanthou New York, Sep 7 (CNA) – President Glafcos Clerides said today rapprochement in the relations between Greece and Turkey was not sufficient to solve the Cyprus problem and blamed the Turkish side for the deadlock in negotiations so far.

Replying to questions during a press conference held at the UN headquarters in New York, President Clerides and the UN Security Council should speak out if the Turkish side shows unwillingness to negotiate within the parametres set by UN Security Council resolutions, calling for a bicommunal, bizonal federation with a single sovereignty, a single international personality and one citizenship.
